Trey Tull is a former United States Marine Corps Sergeant with combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his service, Trey embarked on a distinguished career in law enforcement spanning over a decade. Throughout his tenure, Trey served in various capacities, including as a SWAT Team Leader, Field Training Officer, and K9 Handler alongside his trusted partner, Bodie.

With a wealth of expertise, Trey holds certifications as a Drug Recognition Expert and as an instructor in several critical areas including Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Close Quarter Combat, Active Shooter Response, Less Lethal, Chemical, and Impact Munitions, and more. He has also shared his knowledge as an instructor at law enforcement P.O.S.T. academies.

Transitioning from law enforcement, Trey found his niche as a consultant, assisting defense attorneys nationwide on DUI and felony cases, including homicides. He has also conducted continuing legal education training for attorneys across the country. In 2022, Trey relocated to the Bay Area, continuing his work as a criminal defense investigator.

Trey’s testimony as an expert witness in California courts, particularly in DUI and crash investigations, reflects his depth of knowledge and experience. His unique perspective, shaped by years of service and training, enriches the investigative process at the Law Offices of Martina M. Avalos.

Outside of work, Trey is dedicated to fitness and family, often found in the gym or cooking up a storm in the kitchen for his partner and children. An avid outdoorsman, he finds solace in nature, whether it’s the beach, mountains, or woods.
